Use and access to our website are subject to acceptance of our terms and conditions herein. Please read the terms and conditions carefully and if you are not in agreement we would advise you to kindly refrain from using or accessing our website.
These terms and conditions have been formulated for the protection of all parties for the purpose of hotel accommodation. Access or use of www.insightresortsrilanka.com will give us the confirmation that you have read and accepted our terms and conditions.
Booking Conditions
The Insight Resort website is owned and operated by Devagiri Hotels (Pvt) Limited with their sales office being located at NKAR Travels & Tours (Pvt) Limited, No. 45 Ananda Coomaraswamy Mawatha, Colombo 7.
Once you have read the terms and conditions and agree to abide by such terms and conditions, it is understood that any violation of such conditions could result in the cancellation of your reservation and being denied access to the Insight Resort and perhaps also forfeiting any monies paid for such reservations and or will be debited to your account for any charges, fees, taxes, duties and also any cost assessments against transactions of others on your behalf whether or not such issues were performed with your consent.
It is further understood that your reservation will only be confirmed once you have sent an on-line confirmation together with your credit card details for payment in full or a non refundable part payment as advance. Once the payment is made for the booking via our Internet Booking Engine it is confirmed by a receipt and in some cases a non refundable deposit may be charged.
Bookings are accepted with written confirmation and full payment or 50% non refundable deposit against the full cost. The discretion of waiving off such payments is solely ours. Any deposits or advance payments made automatically accept our booking conditions. If only 50% Part Payment is made the balance payment will have to be made before leaving the hotel.
Our Policy For Pricing
Our pricing is subject to changes that may arise due to government action, currency fluctuation and or increases in supplier prices, beyond our control. If such increases occur which are outside of our control, one must either agree to such increases when notified or cancel your travel arrangements in accordance with the booking policy.
When the Booking Confirmation is made via the Internet Payment Gateway, the email sent to you is an auto generated booking confirmation. Please refrain from responding to that mail ID. Therefore should you wish to contact us regarding your booking please email us on sales@insightsrilanka.com indicating your booking reference number or you may call us at any time on + 94 91 228 3296 or + 94 77 422 0321. The accounts office could be reached on +94 11 256 4584 – Monday to Friday from 8:30 AM to 5:30 PM (Local Time) / 3:00 AM to 12:00 PM (GMT Time) or on Saturday from 9:00 AM to 1:30 PM (Local Time) / 3:30 AM to 8:00 AM (GMT Time) excluding holidays in Sri Lanka
The prices listed on the booking engine may vary depending on whether the guest is a Sri Lankan, Sri Lankan Resident Visa Holder or a foreign passport holder. The Sri Lankan and the Sri Lankan Resident visa holder are both eligible for the Sri Lankan rate, whilst the foreign standard rate will be applicable for the foreign passport holder. Both the Sri Lankan and the Sri Lankan Resident Visa Holder are subject to a verification check of either the national identity card or the copy of the resident visa when check in at the hotel.
If a foreign national is part of a group that has been booked under the Sri Lankan national or a Sri Lanka Resident Visa holder pricing, at the time of checking in the foreign rate will be charged to the particular foreign passport holder at the hotel. Also if a foreign national is booked on the Sri Lankan rate at the time of checking in the price difference will be charged.
The different rate categories listed on the online booking engine regardless of the currency it is listed is subject to change at the discretion of the Insight Resort (Devagiri Hotels (Pvt) Limited).
Payment Methods
Deposits or payments in full may be made either by Bank Transfer or Credit Card (Visa, MasterCard. Related other costs for making payments by Bank Transfer will need to be paid by you.
If payment is by credit card, it could be done either through our secure internet payment gateway facility available on our website or by signing and returning to us the credit card authorization form sent to you by us together with copies of both sides of the relevant credit card.
If payment is through our secure internet payment gateway sites, you could confidently stay assured that your card details are not received or stored by the Insight Resort, as the payment goes direct to the gateway sites of HSBC for Master and Visa Card Payments. All payments will be made in United States Dollars and will be transmitted directly to HSBC for the transaction authorization using the relevant SSL encryption.
The Security Socket Layer (SSL) encryption provides data confidentiality and data integrity for the application process between your web browser and the secured HSBC payment gateway whilst also providing data encryption, server and client authentication and message integrity between the client and the web server.
Amendments To Booking / Cancellations
We strive hard to always to offer the services as confirmed, however reasonable changes if it becomes necessary will be made after notifying you.
Cancellation Policy
A full refund will be made less any bank charges (if any) if the cancellation is received prior to 7 days of arrival. If a cancellation is received less than 7 days, such will be subject to a 100% cancellation fee. ‘Guest no show’ is also subject to a 100% cancellation fee.
Cancellation Policy For Early Bird Bookings
Early Bird Booking cancellations is non refundable.
Cancellation Policy For Amended Bookings
The cancellation policy is applicable to the original date of arrival. If the arrival date is advanced, the cancellation policy will be applicable to the advanced date of arrival.
Cancellation Policy For Special Offers
The cancellation policy for special offers in clearly indicated under terms and conditions of the Internet Booking Engine and Website.
Date Change Requests
A date change request can be sent by email to sales@insightsrilanka.com and will be done subject to availability. If the online rate for the alternate reservation date(s) is less than the original rates, a refund of the excess rate can be collected on arrival from the Front Office. Alternatively if the rate is higher than the original rate, such difference will have to be paid prior to checking out.
Airport Transfers
Favourable rates can be offered for airport transfers. For this we would require confirmed flight details. Please send details to sales@insightsrilanka.com.
When The Hotel Is Overbooked
In such a situation we will request permission to transfer your booking to another similar or higher category hotel. The decision is yours to either agree to the transfer or cancel the booking. If you agree for a transfer, such will be done to the best of our ability with no additional cost to you or if you wish to cancel the booking, this too will be done with a full refund with no penalty imposed on you.
Best Rate Guarantee Offer At Insight Resort
The best room rates on the internet are guaranteed through sales@insightsrilanka.com for the Insight Resort Ahangama (Devagiri Hotels (Pvt) Ltd). For this a confirmation mail received after making the online reservation will need to be submitted as proof and the claim made within 24 hours of making the reservation which should be an exact match to the original booking made through sales@insightsrilanka.com i.e. the same number of guests, same meal plan, same room type and same date of arrival and departure.
This guarantee does not apply to:
- To sites where the hotel name or brand is not specified/mentioned until the booking process is finalized.
- Qualified discount rates including but not limited to Travel Industry discounts, Government discounts, Senior Citizens discounts, Long Stay discounts etc.
- Unpublished or negotiated rates given to corporate entities, travel agents, tour operators or other discounted rates given for specific groups of people.
- Best rate guarantee cannot be combined with any other offer.
The sole right to determine the validity of any claim and the final decision rests with the Insight Resort.
Travel Documents
It is imperative to check that all travel documents such as passport and visa are valid and that proper medical advice has been sought prior to leaving your country. Assistance could be provided if required and recommendations made. We will not be held responsible for any incidents that may occur consequent to your travel without proper valid documents.
Flight Bookings
Booking of international and domestic flights is your responsibility and it is also your responsibility to keep us adequately informed of your travel itinerary.
Insurance
To obtain an adequate Travel insurance before you embark on your journey is recommended. In some cases booking acceptances are dependent on the confirmation that such travel insurances have been obtained.
Responsibility
Incidents arising out proven negligence of ours or with our supplier arrangements where your holiday accommodation and transfers are within our responsibilities, only then will the Insight Resort accept liability for illness, injury and/or death.
However, the Insight Resort (Devagiri Hotels (Pvt) Limited) takes no responsibility in any way when customers choose to make their own arrangements for transport or any other service. If also the contract cannot be fulfilled resulting from war, threat of war, riot, civil strife, industrial disputes, terrorist activity, natural or nuclear disasters, fire or adverse weather conditions and other similar events outside of the control of the Insight Resort will also not be our responsibility. No compensation will become payable in such situations where we are forced to cancel, delay or change your reservation when the performance of our contract is affected or prevented due to such circumstances.
Further, no responsibility is assumed by us for any loss, damage to baggage, property or for injury, illness or death or for any damages or claims however so caused arising directly or indirectly from accidents, loss or damage to person or property, delays, transport failures, strikes, war, force majeure, Acts of God etc or any other loss arising from or consequent to your booking.
Our full responsibility is to ensure that the booking made with the Insight Resort under given terms and conditions is carried out to expectation.
Breakages Or Damages
For any breakages or damages caused by your or any member of your party, it will be your responsibility to ensure that such breakages or damages are paid for prior to checking out from the hotel, thus indemnifying the Insight Resort of such breakages and/or damages.
We take responsibility to provide all services as described and the services we are responsible to provide to a reasonable standard. In a situation where alternative accommodation has to be provided, in such situations we will provide similar or higher standard of accommodation.
Behaviour
You are expected to conduct yourself at all times in compliance with relevant regulations without causing distress, injury or danger to other guests at the Insight Resort (Devagiri Hotels (Pvt) Limited), our staff or any other party. Failure to conduct yourself always in a befitting manner could result in your reservation being terminated with no responsibility for any costs or claims made by you.
Severability
All provisions of the booking conditions shall be and continue to be valid and enforceable, until they are subject to being invalid or unenforceable by law.
Arbitration
A booking once confirmed is subject to a contract being entered into between the Insight Resort (Devagiri Hotels (Pvt) Limited) and you, and such contract shall be governed by the Laws of Sri Lanka.
Complaints
The Insight Resort (Devagiri Hotels (Pvt) Limited) will at all times strive to resolve complaints amicably. However, if such complaint cannot be resolved locally, you are expected to make a formal complaint in writing within 30 days of your return to your country. It is also a condition that you communicate your problem to the relevant authority prior to your departure. Failure on your part to do this will not permit us to carry out an investigation and we thus not accept any responsibility on such complaints.

Exclusion Of Liability
It has been our earnest endeavour at all times to portray and describe our hotel and the services on offer to the best of accuracy on our website and therefore we will not be held liable for any small differences that may arise. Our views and our opinions are our own and we will do our best to correct situations once they are notified to us. However it must be appreciated that our opinions can be subjective to some degree of accuracy.
The information available on our website, the Insight Resort, does not guarantee as free from errors or omissions, but will make every effort to correct such erroneous information if such is brought to our notice. It should be noted that such information is provided for guidance only. The links provided on our website are for reference purposes only and we do not have control over such websites or their content.
Your Personal Information
Information provided by you should always be true and accurate and we will maintain such information in strict confidentiality. Our anti-fraud policy takes responsible means to protect personal information such as credit card details.
You are welcome to visit our website at any time and communicate through the website or by email. You should also agree and consent to receiving communications electronically on notices, disclosures and agreements that we provide you electronically and that such electronic communications are acceptable as legal and binding with the laws of your country.
The possibilities are there at all times that a virus may get transferred thus causing loss or damage, for which we will not hold ourselves responsible.
